Niddrie Autistic School is a short-term, intensive transition school for children with autism from prep to grade 3 (ages 4-9). We are dedicated to supporting each student as they move toward greater independence and success.
Our approach is centered on a deep understanding of each student’s unique strengths, needs, and the necessary adjustments to help them thrive. We focus on creating comprehensive student profiles that guide their progress and ensure a smooth transition to other educational settings.
Our pedagogy is informed by individualised learning plans, developed collaboratively with parents and allied health professionals, including speech and occupational therapists. At the heart of our approach is a strong emphasis on developing social communication skills, which are integrated into every aspect of our students’ daily experiences.
At NAS our teaching and learning programs place the individual student at the centre and incorporate student’s strengths and interests into each learning experience. Leadership teams support teachers to embed high level and evidence based teaching practices that encompass individual student needs.
